Honors Project: A New Era: Screen Time Exposure and its Impacts on Children

Honors Course: Honors Composition I

Instructor: Olabisi Adenekan

My name is Anna Vitiello. I am currently pursuing an Associate in Arts through the Honors Program at Oakton College. The Honors Program has proven to be a gratifying and illuminating experience. I have enjoyed the hands-on approach more than a traditional classroom setting. This method of learning has allowed me to apply my coursework to practical contexts. At Oakton, I have been exploring a range of subjects that interest me, such as music and film photography. After my time at Oakton College, I plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy as my Pre-Law Major.

My Honors project explored the causes and effects of excessive screen time in children. Through my research, I identified feasible solutions to screen over-exposure and created my project artifact, Track&Thrive. By integrating my research paper with my artifact, I effectively disseminated my findings. Working alongside Professor Adenekan created an enlightening yet supportive environment. We were taught all the indispensable information, such as in-text citations, all while being provided with ample encouragement.
