November 29, 11:00AM: Noor Shahzad (Oakton Honors Program Alumna) — Honors “Emerging Scholars” Series (Zoom+In-Person)

Join us at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 29, via Zoom or in-person (room TBA) for the Honor’s Program’s “Emerging Scholars” Series, a discussion with Honors Program alumna Noor Shahzad.

Noor Shahzad serves as a Community Outreach Associate for the Midwest, EPA Region 5, with the Environmental Protection Network. In her role, she actively forges and strengthens ties among communities of color, low-income communities, EPA alumni, and other key stakeholders. Centered around community-driven projects, Noor's work is dedicated to facilitating assistance tailored to the community's unique needs. Currently enrolled in a Masters in Public Policy program at the University of Chicago, Noor is arming herself with the tools to challenge and advocate against climate injustices.

In line with the Honors Program’s “Emerging Scholars” Series, Noor will discuss both her research and work, and her academic path and experiences as a graduate student. Please register in advance to attend via Zoom here. Please register to attend in-person here.
